Founded in 1844 by the first bishop of Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Catholic was in continuous circulation until the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020. It was the oldest Catholic newspaper in continuous publication in the United States. Publication resumed, online only, in September 2020.
